OKX Releases “OKX Racer,” a Telegram-based Bitcoin Price Guessing Game
OKX said on Monday that it had released a mini-game on Telegram called “OKX Racer.” Every five seconds, players of the free game are asked to estimate the price of Bitcoin (BTC). To gain points, players must guess if the price will rise (“moon”) or fall (“doom”).

According to OKX, gamers can increase their point total by referring friends or making consecutive correct answers. Players can purchase in-game enhancements like increasing their fuel tank with the extra points they earn. Players of OKX Race can finish know-your-customer (KYC) authentication and link their OKX account for any future “surprises,” the business continued.
Not yet an airdrop for OKX Racer
OKX asserted that it released a Telegram mini-app as the “first” significant centralised cryptocurrency asset exchange. Users of OKX Racer can guess up to ten times during gameplay before having to wait for their next guess to refill, which occurs once every minute and thirty seconds. A player receives 10 points for every accurate prediction; incorrect guesses do not result in a loss of points.

It’s unclear if the exchange intends to convert OKX Racer points to cryptocurrency in a manner like to Notcoin’s well-known tap-to-earn strategy, in which users receive cryptocurrency by airdrop. With a market valuation of more than $1.5 billion, Notcoin’s NOT token—which it debuted on the TONNE blockchain in May—became the largest cryptocurrency gaming token of the year.
Jason Lau, the chief innovation officer of OKX, claims that the choice to introduce the Telegram mini-app aims to “embrace easy-to-use, interoperable and accessible platforms that cultivate communities, incentivize participation and encourage fun.”
“Mini-apps” are web-based programmes that operate within the social network on Telegram. Users do not need to install these apps on their devices in order to access crypto projects; instead, they can start from within Telegram.

With the TONNE blockchain, Telegram has developed into a central location for “clicker games,” such as Tapswap, Notcoin, and Hamster Kombat. Usually, the games reward users for tapping their smartphone screens, and they have a large fan base. Combat Hamster asserts that it has more than 250 million players.
OKX Racer is not the first player to use the Bitcoin price in a game. The Solana-based platform Hxro released a corresponding game named MoonRekt in 2019. Players could wager the HXRO token, which was worth around five cents at the time, on whether the price of Bitcoin would increase or decrease over the course of five minutes.
