Fantom Officially Launches Upgraded Opera Chain
According to Odaily, Fantom has officially launched their improved Opera chain. The update has achieved the required 66% consensus, signalling its formal commencement. The delivery date corresponds to the projected timeframe established when the Sonic testnet phase began in October last year. The project has moved smoothly and without any delays.
The Opera chain is now expected to achieve the following goals: variable/mixed/complex transactions achieving about 2,000 transactions per second (TPS) with approximately one second certainty; token swap transactions achieving about 4,000 TPS with approximately 1.3 seconds completion; and token transfers achieving about 10,000
TPS completed in around 1.6 seconds. Furthermore, the storage requirements for validator nodes are predicted to be reduced by roughly 66%, while archive nodes’ running expenses are expected to be reduced by approximately 95%.
In the following weeks and months, Fantom intends to reveal additional information about its forthcoming chain’s technology, token economics, audience engagement goals, collaborations, brand, and strategic direction .
