Donald Trump responds to Russia’s decision to endorse Kamala Harris.

About forty-eight hours ago, Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, appeared on national television to tell the world that Kamala Harris is his preferred candidate for president of the United States in the approaching elections against his friend, Donald Trump.

The former president joined us to share his surprise with the storyline twist, saying:

“I’m not sure what to say about that. I am not sure if I am humiliated or if he [Putin] did me a favour.”

The Biden administration wasted no time in addressing Putin’s endorsement. John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesperson, stated that Putin should not interfere in US elections.

“Putin should stay out of the American elections. “The American people will choose their own leaders.”

Trump has referred to the charges of Russian intervention as a “fake political witch hunt and a scam.”

Some others assume that the endorsement is intended to cause disturbance rather than show genuine support for Kamala. He smirked the entire time and even mentioned that her giggle is “infectious.”

Rebekah Koffler, a former Defence Intelligence Agency official, suggested that Russia may believe Kamala would be easier.

Trump is more difficult to influence because he has always been unpredictable. Vladimir Putin

Meanwhile, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesperson, stated that Putin’s words should be taken as they see fit.

Putin has remained steady. In 2004, he expressed his support for George W. Bush. In 2016, he publicly praised Trump.

This sparked claims of Russian influence in the election.

He has also publicly criticised candidates who do not support Russia’s interests, such as Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Mitt Romney in 2012.

But it’s unusual for foreign leaders to comment on American elections, let alone with such odd rationale.

Kamala Harris

Trump has long expressed a desire to strengthen relations with Russia, and during his first term, he showed signals of openness to more cooperation with Putin.

Trump has stated that if he were in power, the Russian invasion of Ukraine would not have happened.

Many believe that a second Republican term would bring a milder attitude to Russia, with a focus on diplomacy rather than confrontation.

Just yesterday, he promised to lift all sanctions against the country whenever he returns to power because they are harming the dollar.

Joe Biden

Even if Trump decided to remove sanctions and improve relations, he would encounter congressional opposition.

Many politicians on both sides believe that Russia’s actions, such as the invasion of Crimea, must be addressed before any meaningful progress can be made.If Kamala is elected, she is expected to maintain the Biden administration’s harsh stance towards Russia. She has been vocal about Russia’s aggressiveness in Ukraine and has backed sanctions against Moscow.
