According to Michael Saylor, bitcoin will make up 7% of all wealth and be worth $13 million in 21 years.
The fact that Michael Saylor is still quite optimistic about Bitcoin {{BTC}} is not surprising. The executive chairman of MicroStrategy did not disappoint on Friday, stating that in his base case, he sees the value of the largest cryptocurrency in the world climbing to $13 million by 2045.
Saylor mentioned during his keynote speech at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville that, at the current price of roughly $65,000, the market capitalisation of bitcoin is only $1.3 trillion, or 0.1% of total global wealth.
Saylor stated that in order for bitcoin to reach his base scenario of $13 million in 2045, it would need a 29% yearly rate of return. He went on, saying that at that point, bitcoin will represent 7% of the world’s wealth and have a market capitalisation of $280 trillion.
Saylor predicted that in a bull market, bitcoin may be valued at $49 million, or 22% of the world’s wealth; in a down market, it might be worth $3 million, or 2% of the world’s wealth.
Over the last four years, MicroStategy, a commercial software company led by Saylor, has amassed a bitcoin stack of 226,331 tokens that is today valued at almost $15 billion, or roughly 80% higher than the total purchase price.
